A Zakopane-style chair from the Tatra Museum
This chair is now in the Tatra Museum. It was designed by Wojciech Brzega (1872-1941). It was already known in ancient Egypt before it was included in the museum. It forms a set of furniture with a table of the same style. The chair is famous for its beautiful decoration in the style of Zakopane. The open backrest and legs are decorated with hearts, rosettes and lulu flowers. These decorations are made with great precision and perfectly match the design of the furniture. The Zakopane style is intended to encompass both architecture and the applied arts. In 1902 this piece of furniture was exhibited at the "Polish Applied Arts" Association exhibition.
